I Am Human: Rising Proud Beyond Family Hate
They refuse to see me as human. Yes, it’s true.
My own family calls me names, casts me out, and tries to erase my existence. But this Pride, I’m here to say loud and clear I am more than their hate.
I am human. I am resilient.
And I will not be invisible.
Pride is about more than celebration. It’s about survival. It’s about rising again and again despite the hate that tries to silence us. My own family doesn’t see me as human. To them, I am a collection of accusations, lies and denial. They treat me like a ghost, a problem, or worse, a threat.
But Pride teaches me this: I am real. I am human.
And their hatred will never erase that.
Being estranged from family is one of the hardest battles we face. It is not just losing connection but losing recognition, losing those who should see us and love us unconditionally. I’ve been called groomer, pervert, fake, words thrown like weapons to cut down my existence. Yet all I have ever done is create. I make music. I write stories. I live my truth boldly.
They turn their backs not because I am the problem but because facing their own silence and complicity is too much for them. But Pride reminds me that I am not alone.
We lift each other up, refusing to be erased or diminished.
To everyone who has been cast out or rejected especially by those who should love us most, know this: your humanity cannot be taken. Your truth is your strength. The pain is real but it does not define you. What defines us is how we fight back, how we build community and how we stand proud, fierce and unbreakable.
I am human.
I am more than their hate.
And during Pride especially, I find the courage to keep living, creating, and demanding to be seen not as a shadow but as a whole, fierce, unstoppable person.
Together we fight hate by choosing love, visibility and resilience.
