Poetry of the Fabled Gable of Roman Britain: The Wenderbeast of Bodmin Moor: Christmas Short Stories

When Rome’s shadow falls across the misted hills of Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall, the last voices of Avalon flicker like embers in the wind. Among them stirs a most unlikely guardian of wisdom, the Wenderbeast, a scholarly hog of gentle wit and stubborn pride.

When the sacred halls of Avalon are set ablaze, the Wenderbeast carries what remains: the secret texts of the Daughters of Avalon, the keepers of light and lore. Hunted by men who see only a Yuletide feast, he flees across the dying West Country, through marsh, tor, and moor, seeking refuge in Dumnonia, the last free kingdom.

There, upon the granite wilds of Bodmin Moor, he must find King Corentyn and convince him to preserve the knowledge of the old world before it fades forever.

Will the beast of Avalon become a legend reborn, or vanish beneath the march of empire and time?

A tale of myth and memory, told in rhyme and reverence, where faith, folklore, and friendship survive the fall of empires.
